Remembering the Fallen: Marine Sgt Adam Cann. Sergeant Adam Leigh Cann, a Marine K9 handler a few weeks shy of his 24th birthday, was killed by a suicide bomber in Ramadi on January 5, 2006, one of the bloodiest days in Iraq since the fall of Saddam Hussein in 2003. He was the first Marine K9 handler killed in action since the Vietnam War.

Semper K9 works to match the “right dog” with the “right person” so they can be a team for life. The matching process begins when the candidate is notified of the application approval. Once a dog is adopted or donated that is suitable for the veteran, the dog will then be trained to meet the needs of its new partner.
