The full size shiftpods are massive to move around: fine for playa and other substantial car camping missions, but definitely more of a hassle than normal tents.I had never used Aluminet either, but I knew it would be a better choice for this vs. a tarp. We were definitely comfortable in the living area. As far as the Shiftpod, I do believe it helped.
