I bought an iRobot Roomba i3+ EVO (3550) and sent it on an initial Smart Mapping run yesterday. It ran for 8.5 hours (which included 2 pauses of about 1 hour each, and charging time). By 5pm with it still going, I called customer support to see if this was normal. They said it was not, had me reset it, and told me to try again today.I just got mine this week also. I had heard about this issue so this is what I did - performed the initial set-up - Wi-Fi etc, and then left it alone to let it charge up on the dock for a bit. Quick update: This problem seems to have gone away after my i7 automatically updated the map (I can tell that it updated the map because the "last updated" date changed) after a cleaning run. Oddly enough, my i7 rarely automatically updates the map after a cleaning run, which might have contributed to this issue.
