FWIW, limp mode that clears when the ignition is recycled is usually caused by a boost pressure issue, in my experience. That sounds like you might have an incorrect bulb fitted in one of your tail lights. Try switching on the headlamps, then go to the back of the car and check to see if both tail lamps look the same.
