Pulling out the 40A tailgate motor fuse effectively disables the power tailgate functionality; I just moved it to an unused slot in the fuse box. Although I do get a light on the dash saying "tailgate", this does solve the problem. About 50-60% of the time, our rear tailgate will not stay open. It slowly sags and then starts beeping and closes automatically. It has closed on my wife and kids a few times while unloading items. If it doesn't close all the way, it sags and lowers itself about 6-8 inches before stopping. This of course leaves the tailgate latch at forehead ...
