With all the various players out there offering some form of home automation it would be to Ring’s advantage if they worked on getting their products to integrate with the Apple HomeKit system. To get hksv to work with ring I used the ring plugin, HomeKit plugin, rebroadcast plugin, webrtc plugin, and the rebroadcast plugin. I don’t suggest the snapshots plugin due to the battery life hits to non hardwire cameras. Also: bear in mind the whole platform is updated frequently, I use watchtower to keep my docker environment up to date.
Then joined Ring to to SmartThings. Then, when I added SmartThings to HomeAssistant, all the Ring devices, including cameras and locks found their way into Apple Home. One of the neatest things that happened is if someone rings the Ring Doorbell, video of it pops up on any Apple TV that’s turned on in the house.
