Initializing can take a few minutes, make sure you let it run for that time. Might even take longer depending on your setup. It is definitely the slowest part of my server boot.Survivor gives you a lot more freedom in combat, but I think the biggest thing, is the fact you can hit 3 zombies at a time rather than just 1.
