John deere 1780 planter problems.
I've seen the problem worse on Deere's 1780 style planter with the longer hitch on the 6/11 or 8/15 planters causing more side pressure on turns. I've always welded the units with no long term problems. The max emerge XP cast shanks first used in 2004 don't have this problem.
Subject: Re: j d 7000 planter gauge wheel arm kits. The Shoup kit comes with a spacer and shims if my memory is correct. Throw the spacer and shims away and just use the bolt and heavy washer. I have installed Deere’s arm repair kits and Shoup is a copy but they added the spacer and shims.John Deere 7200 planter troubles. JD 1780 planter questions. I have been thinking about buying a JD 1780 planter with the interplant option, 16-30"corn, 31-15"soybean rows. My main concern is the trash flo ability of the planter. We do chop our cornstalks, then hit them with DMI 530 in the fall.

I think the inter plant planters work great for narrow rows, but unless you plant corn in 15" rows I would have one planter for corn and one for beans. The added weight of the planter will work against the corn yield.
