These results are hardly statistically significant, but the two DRV-20's that I recovered from the patterning board this weekend collapsed perfectly and the wad petals peeled back symmetrically. I have a few thousand GU-2025's (SG20L's) that I bought from a SGW member, but they are a tad too tall for 7/8's (with Universal).I have an old Hercules data manual and the only 1 1/8 oz. 20 ga. loads it shows are 3". There is a 1 3/16 oz. 3" load as well. All use AACF hulls and Blue Dot powder and SP20 wads. It's interesting that the guide has a correction taped over the 3" 20 load data. The old DuPont data for short 1 1/8 oz. 20 ga. loads all use 4756.PMC hulls are made by Nobel. The Remington Shur-Shot may be loaded with STS/Gun Club/Unibody data. Probably the single most useful 20 gauge wad for SW hulls is the SG-20M/GU2021 from Ballistic Products. SP20's are good substitutes for the WW20F1 but are expensive if you shoot a lot. Try the Windjammer 20. Although the factory lists them as a 7/8oz. wad they work well with 1oz. if you use a low dense, sitting powder like HS6. The Duster orange 20 is a 7/8oz. wad, period. It sits high with about any brand/type powder.

Shortest - RXP-20 and Versalite-20. RXP is tapered, but what is probably more of an issue is that the OP section of the wad is very shallow. I believe a long OP cup can expand to get a good seal on a tapered wad. Observing the two wads they are the same overall height and shotcup and cushion heights are also the same. The cushion design is the typical Remington power piston.There is no question whatsoever about the WAA20F1. It was a 20 gauge yellow wad with a short leg section and intended for 1 ounce loads. That does not mean that with some combinations it could not be used with 7/8 or even 1-1/8 ounce loadings.
