Saiga 12 wood furniture.

Can traditional AK wood sets be used on the saiga .223? I know with enough modification, anything can be done. But I'm looking for something that doesn't require a lot of machining of the Saiga. I don't really care for the plastic original stock set, or the tapco plastic. I prefer AK wood. And AK wood sets can be found all over the place.Thinking of putting wood furniture on saiga 5.45 and have a few of questions. 1. Has anyone used the TimberSmith wood on theirs? 2. Aug 9, 2010 · To do it right, you'll need; 1- a wood set (of course), 2- a lower handguard retainer (You can mod an AK one, or buy Dinzag's) 3- an AK RSB. 4 an AK gas tube (to cannibalize the upper retainers off of) 5 the ability to weld (Tig's best, but gas, MIG or ARC work too) & correctly finish steel. It is mahogony with a Tung oil finish. I am only willing to sell it as a complete set (counts as 3 compliance parts). 2) Furniture. The girl is pretty much a Plain Jane Chinese looking thing right now. She would be beautiful with a little well polished wood in the fore grip, gas tube and possibly other areas. I could only find the 21-inch barrel model with wood stocks, and while I love its appearance, I may have to swap the wood furniture out for something a little lighter. Some of the stocks combinations with bipods look interesting though it would probably eliminate only a few ounces.
