A JD 435 was my first round baler. It was easy to use. The monitor was a bit crude but it told you what you needed to know (it is not like you are splitting atoms ). I was/am not a high volume hay operator. The bales would fit easily in the back of a full sized pickup. No service issues.
Jul 26, 2010 · JD recommends 65 PTO HP min for a 435 baler. You might be better off waiting for a 5x4 baler. You will tax your tractor to the max. I would not want to run the tractor into the ground. Or Talk my wife into a bigger tractor!!!!!! I will try and find a good 458 or 457. Thanks again.

The JD 466 M-W PU baler I bought new after several thousand bales would break the feeder forks IE very poor design. The broken in the field feeder forks resemble antler sheds when found in tires. 467/567 & later balers have a much better designed MW PU. Thank you, for the advice. It does ha e a wide pickup, on it.
