If your repalcement alternator is not a Denso, you should get a 3rd alternator installed. Valve adjustment has nothing to do with spool valve labor, as you do not remove the valve covers when replacing just the top half of the spool valve. I suggest you find new mechanics, get a Denso alternator installed, muzzle your VCM, install the spool valve.
