You set xenos to necrophage purge, causing them to quickly turn into your primary species. You quickly grow your primary population, until you run out of xenos, then you stop growing. Your primary species will also have to work worker pops. If you keep invading and purging xenos, this means extremely fast pop growth.

Should also probably add that purging pops makes the rest of the universe hate you :P (at least the empires that has thus far discovered you).
