In response to Acadia Ray - My 2017 Acadia started showing the steering assist warning when starting the car, my check engine light was on, engine fans keep running on high and a/c stopped. I removed the negative battery connector, and reattached it as you suggested, and all is well!!!

Turn the ignition OFF and disconnect the harness connector at each of the park assist sensors (4 sensors except Cadillac DTS- 8 sensors) Important: With all the park assist sensor harness connectors disconnected, multiple sensor DTCs will set and will not clear. Ignore these DTCs. Turn the ignition ON, clear any DTC.
