We were unable to pair our bluetooth phones to the car, the nice disembodied female voice told us that "Bluetooth is not on. Turn on Bluetooth to continue".Just search "reset" in your settings, then hit the "reset settings". It won't factory reset anything, just change your wallpaper. Apparently 1) GMC has shitty usb ports 2) there was a recall for the wiring and 3) GMC's infotainment software assumed a maximum of 10k songs on an iPod and modern devices easily exceed this data limit which causes bugs. The shitty usb ports appear as recently as 2021 model years.

If it is greyed out in the menus then something is amiss. To my thinking, a infotainment system software update MIGHT bring it back to life, but it could be a hardware failure. Given that most of us have not had issues with bluetooth, it seems more likely a hardware issue.
