Oct 29, 2020 · Fix lift control lever & draft control lever. Also there is a cam follower pin (dowel) that gets badly worn from riding on a cam for many years. Replace it. If the cam is badly worn, build it up with weld and grind it back to near original. Also, make sure that your draft control system moves freely. Cam follower pin (Ford 3000 tractor diagram)

Bring each cylinder in turn up to TDC (firing order 1-2-3) and adjust the gaps to spec. The position control /draft control level hasn't worked since I bought this1969 Ford 3000 tractor. Finally got around to pulling the lift cover and there was no linkage between the lever and the inside parts. I don't understand why someone would remove linkage unless there was a problem.

This is one of the advantages of JD over other makes that have a different design or only on one side. Those devices allow the ends of the lower two of the 3 point hitch to float indepently.
