Hodgdon data for CFE223 powder calls for a starting load of 25.0 and a maximum of 26.7, not a big range. I loaded 4 rounds each with 25.5, 25.8, 26.1, 26.4 and 26.7. I also brought along some of my plinking rounds, made with Hornady bulk 55gr bullets. I took them out day and shot them at 50 yards from a bench.

That being said, in a Tikka T-3 Varmint in .223 (1-8") I have found 27gr of CFE223 and a 55gr VMax to be plenty accurate (scary accurate actually) and is just easier to load for varmints (ball powder that meters well out of a powder measure).First, just a mention on your ss109... Check your range you want to shoot em at, a lot of ranges ban penetrator or steel jacketed bullets. And it will damage steel targets.
