In all fairness, I don't think I would have been diagnosed with BPD, but I do think I would have qualified for having qBPD. this means I was able to control my impulses internally a lot without having to externalize it to others. So this maybe different for your BPD gf, but I think that the basic mechanism maybe the same.
An FP attachment is by its very nature insecure and volatile; it clouds genuine feelings of love and affection when the pwBPD is on the lookout for signs of abandonment. I am not myself around an FP because I try and look for the „best“ (i.e. most pleasing and accommodating) way to be. It‘s not genuine.
