Usually I just take apart the machine, clean out any debris, make sure the pinch detect metal pieces are in place and touching, put the machine back together and typically that will fix the issue. I replaced the DFI and pinch detect terminals about 1.5-2 years ago and it's been working pretty well since then. A few days ago, the unit stopped cycling entirely. The blue DFI light started blinking even when the tray was empty, and after pressing the "reset" button, the lights switched to the fast yellow blinking (pinch detect).

As of now, my litter robot will refuse to cycle or empty while flashing the same yellow light over and over. I checked the waste drawer and anything in that area, to which there is nothing seemingly wrong there.
