As an ex-osrs player for a good number of years, so many people played leagues but never played OSRS. They like OSRS but hated the xp rates and the grind. After leagues ended, so many players get burnt and stop playing for a while. They went from 16x xp rates to 1x. This is just going to put new players off the main game.

Because a ton of the hate directed at Jagex is directed at mods or other people who have absolutely no control over the mtx situation (people that most likely feel the way the players do).
