Not all of the challenge modes are "challenging". Some of them just have a gimmick, and this gimmick seems to be that everything is cold and that makes everyone slow. Some ways this one is challenging though is that it can make finding the ghost room somewhat more difficult as the broken generator makes the thermometer unreliable and the snow makes ghost orbs difficult to spot.
