I ended up getting the Maxxis 35 just because it felt better shooting than any of the others. And my other bow is a Switchback so I am loyal to Mathews somewhat. Brought my Bowtech Carbon One to compare draw/vibration/speed. All bows where put on draw board and timed, draw weight was taken and draw length was measured. Three bows I shot were Mathews lift 29.5, Hoyt Alpha X 30, Hoyt RX-8 30 inch. Both Hoyt’s where 70.1 lbs at 28.5dl measured. Mathews was 72lbs with 28 mod (measured 28 3/8).The VTM34 draws slightly smoother, and the Hoyt has a better factory grip IMO. If you have been a Hoyt guy for a long time you will transition into the VTM easier. I do like the low riser stab mount option on the Hoyts. Both companies make outstanding accessories, although Mathews pricing is stupid. The Hoyt Bourbon is bow color of the year imo.

I really have no real experience with the Bear, but the new Motive 6 and 7 look very interesting. If I were in the market for a new bow I would try the Motive. I'm sure Hoyt and Mathews will come out with their normal outstanding bows.

It definitely was one of the best bows they made. I had several in that era, including the switchback. I don’t know if it was because of the 7” brace height or how slow it was, but it was an accurate bow that just shot well for me. That being said, I’ve had some good success with the new Hoyt’s as well.

Whats best would depend on what you are after. I have probibly shot 50 different bows since buying my Mathews DXT. To this day I have not found anything that comes close. It just fits me. Someone else may be lookin for something diferent from their equipment so a different bow would be a better choice.
